Ruby360 was the final stop after one of the most meaningful wedding days I’ve photographed this year. This couple flew in from Minnesota a few nights early, ready to slow down, breathe in the mountains, and get married somewhere that felt true to them. They chose the Lamoille Mountains for a reason. They wanted quiet, space, and something that felt real. From the beginning, the day felt intentional and calm, even with the fog rolling in.
They spent the morning getting ready in their room, keeping things simple and relaxed. I captured her bridal portraits on the balcony, where
the fog softened everything in the best way. Nothing felt rushed. We worked with what the day gave us, and that made the photos stronger. Meanwhile, her soon-to-be husband had her mom help him get ready. That moment stood out. It was quiet, emotional, and full of trust. Those are the moments I always look for.
Getting Ready in the Mountains
The getting-ready portion of the day felt personal and grounded. There was no big crowd, no noise, and no distractions. Just a few meaningful people and a lot of anticipation. I photographed details like her shoes, rings, and other personal items while they eased into the day. Flatlay photos matter because they tell part of the story without needing words. They slow the gallery down and give space for the quieter parts of the day.
The fog stayed with us, which could have felt stressful, but instead it added something unexpected. It wrapped around the mountains and softened the background, letting the focus stay on them. Fog has a way of doing that. It simplifies the scene and makes moments feel more intimate.
Hiking, Vows, and Ruby360
After getting ready, we hiked into the Lamoille Mountains for the ceremony. The hike felt steady and intentional, not rushed. Every step felt like part of the experience, not just a means to an end. When they reached their spot, everything felt still. They exchanged vows surrounded by fog, mountains, and quiet. No distractions. Just the two of them and the commitment they were making.
After the ceremony, we moved into portraits, letting the day unfold naturally. They laughed, held hands, and took their time. Nothing felt
staged. When couples trust the process, portraits feel easy, and that trust showed here.
We finished portraits at Ruby360, which gave us a completely different feel from the ceremony. The contrast worked beautifully. The fog stayed heavy, creating images that felt moody and unique without trying too hard. We didn’t fight the weather. We leaned into it. That choice made the images stand out in a way you can’t plan for.
Ending the Day with Intention
As the day wrapped up, everything felt complete. There was no rush to move on or check off one last thing. The story had been told. From getting ready to hiking into the mountains, every part of the day connected naturally.
This wedding stood out because it stayed true to who they are. They traveled, slowed down, trusted the process, and chose meaning over tradition. Those choices always lead to stronger images and a better experience.
