Oregon lavender farms have a way of slowing you down and just enjoying the amazing perfume that lavender brings. I spent the afternoon at Wayward Winds Lavender Farm, and honestly, it ended up being one of my favorite stops in Oregon. Even though it was midday, the light still worked out great, and I walked away with images I loved. From the moment we arrived, everything was beautiful, welcoming, and well thought out. The only thing I wish was different was that we didn’t have to park in the grass, and that there was more of a designated parking area. Because the grass is fine, it’s the very uneven ground that was not ideal.

Visiting Oregon Lavender Farms Near Newberg

Wayward Winds Lavender Farm is such a gem when it comes to Oregon lavender farms. The fields are beautiful, and they even have a lavender maze, which made wandering around with my daughters a lot of fun. We took our time walking through, stopping often, and enjoying the experience instead of rushing. Because of that, the photos I took felt relaxed. Midday sun can be tricky, but we adjusted, moved around, and leaned into the strong midday sun.

Picking Lavender and Enjoying the Experience

Unlike other Oregon Lavender Farms, the one thing I really loved is that they offer self-picking. For $20, you get a basket and can pick your own lavender, which is such a fun addition. You can choose between culinary and non-culinary lavender, and they offer three different varieties. That hands-on experience made the visit feel personal and memorable. After that, I grabbed a lavender lemonade, which was so refreshing and delicious, and I also picked up some lavender syrup to bring home.

By the end of the visit, I felt refreshed, and so glad we made the stop. Wayward Winds Lavender Farm offered more than just a pretty field—it offered an experience.
