Great Basin College is one of my favorite places to photograph families, especially in the spring. I recently came here for a family portrait session, and right away, everything smelled amazing and was full of color. As soon as spring arrives, this campus transforms, and it becomes the perfect backdrop for timeless family images.
Spring Portraits at Great Basin College
During spring, Great Basin College comes alive with blooms, and the cherry blossoms always steal the show. Their soft pink color adds
warmth without being overpowering. Even better, the entire campus smells incredible this time of year, which makes the session feel even more special and helps create the romantic vibe I am always looking for. Because I know this location well, I always guide families to my go-to spots. Lighting matters deeply to me, so I consistently chase clean, flattering light..
Thoughtful Light and Sweet Moments
As we moved through the session, I focused on keeping things relaxed and natural, I want to make sure to help guide but than capture all the candid moments that flow throughout my sessions. The family brought along their little girl and little boy, and both kids were incredibly sweet. The little boy laughed easily, which made super sweet moments. I always want the moments to unfolded organically. I never rush through sessions, I always make sure I have the right about of portraits before packing up, along with just getting to know the sweet family.
Why Great Basin College Works So Well
I always return to Great Basin College for a reason, especially during Spring and Autumn. The space feels open yet intimate, structured yet soft. By the end of the session, the parents felt genuinely excited about their portraits. Those reactions always matter most to me. Spring sessions like this remind me why I love photographing families here—beautiful light, real connection, and memories that will last long after the blossoms fade.
