Ruby 360 Lodge – A Weekend of Cocktails

Family

Ruby 360 Lodge Cocktails

Ruby 360 Lodge was such a fun place to photograph these two, and honestly, the whole session felt more like a weekend hangout than a photoshoot. They flew in from Texas to spend a few days at the lodge, and right away, you could tell this wasn’t just about photos. They’ve been best friends for years, and that comfort showed up in everything they did together.

I didn’t need to warm them up — they were already there. That kind of connection makes my job simple. I can step back, watch, and capture what’s already happening instead of trying to create something.

Best Friends Make the Best Sessions

We changed outfits a few times throughout the session, and each one brought out a different side of them. Some looks felt more serious and intentional, while others were light and playful. At one point, they just started dancing, and it turned into some of my favorite images from the day. Nothing planned. Nothing forced. Just them being themselves.

We had cocktails, talked in between shots, and laughed a lot. The energy stayed relaxed the entire time. That flexibility is what makes sessions like this enjoyable for everyone.

Spending time inside Ruby 360 Lodge was just as fun as being outside. The fireplace added such a cozy  feel, especially after being out walking around. It gave us a chance to slow things down, sit for a bit, and let the moments happen naturally. Those quieter parts of the session are just as important as the big, energetic ones.

What Makes Ruby 360 Lodge Special

The Ruby 360 Lodge has a really welcoming feel to it. The dining area is popular with locals, and you can tell it’s a place people actually gather, not just pass through. There’s something about that kind of space that feels comfortable right away.

Outside, the property feels open and grounded. And yes — there are cows. You open and close gates as you move around, which might sound inconvenient, but it honestly adds to the experience. It makes you slow down and be present. You’re not just hopping from spot to spot. You’re part of the space.

Photographing here doesn’t feel staged. It feels lived in. That makes a huge difference, especially for people who want something real instead of overly posed.

A Weekend I’d Love to Repeat

By the end of the session, we all agreed it went by way too fast. They told me how much fun they had and said they’d love to do something like this again someday. I really hope we get that chance. Sessions like this stick with you, not because everything was perfect, but because it felt genuine.

What stood out most to me was how present they were with each other. They weren’t thinking about the camera or what they “should” be woman hugging at ruby 360 lodge doing. They were just enjoying their time together. That’s always when the best photos happen.

Ending the weekend photographing them at Ruby 360 Lodge felt like the perfect way to wrap everything up. It was relaxed, full of laughter, and completely true to who they are — and that’s exactly why I loved it. Want to check out more blogs about the Ruby 360 Lodge?
