When couples ask me about Elko venues, I answer honestly. I’ve photographed weddings at most of these locations, so I know the lighting, the layouts, the owners, and the things you only learn by actually working there. Because venue pricing changes often, I won’t list it here. Instead, I’ll explain what matters most: space, light, timing, and what to realistically expect on your wedding day. It’s also important to note that I give both pros and cons to each venue and will only share personal experience from each one. It’s also important to note that each location’s lighting and the number of trees can slightly change the way a place photographs. A location with less light will naturally appear darker compared to a wide-open space in the middle of the day with minimal tree coverage. If your ceremony takes place in the middle of the day, the colors of the grass photograph neon, compared to the deeper, richer greens I prefer. This is just one of the reasons I often encourage scheduling a ceremony two to three hours before sunset.
Lamoille & Outdoor Venues
7th Canyon Ranch – Lamoille
This is the largest venue in Elko County and can hold around 400 people. It has a large grassy outdoor area along with an indoor barn, which gives couples flexibility for weather. The owners are wonderful to work with, and they provide tables and chairs, which helps reduce rentals. Another huge perk is that there’s an air-conditioned bridal suite, as well as a separate groom’s dressing room. Several arbors, wine barrels, and decorations are also included, which is a big plus. For an extra fee, a horse-drawn carriage or pony drink carts are available as well.
For 7th Canyon Ranch, it’s also important to note that there is a curfew at 11:00 p.m. Setup is allowed the day before the event starting at 1:00 p.m., with cleanup scheduled for the day after the event. Cottage day or overnight rentals are available, and RVs or campers are allowed for an additional fee. A Certificate of Insurance with $1,000,000 in coverage is required.
One thing to be aware of is the barn lighting. It gives off a strong orange tint in photos. However, I bring professional lighting equipment that helps avoid this. Ceremony timing also matters here. If the ceremony is too early in the day, the light is harsh and uneven, which often results in many photos being black and white. I can also help by assisting you in putting together your timeline and sharing what time is best to have your ceremony at this specific venue.

The Old Schoolhouse – Lamoille
Located in downtown Lamoille near the old Lamoille church, this venue fits about 75 people comfortably. It has a very cute antique look, and the connected kitchen works well if you plan to serve your own food.
The downside is space. It’s limited, and the flooring creates an orange color cast. My lighting equipment helps greatly with this. Another con is the stage. While it works for some events, it limits dancing space for weddings and has a brown carpet that doesn’t photograph well.

Lamoille Grove
This picnic area in downtown Lamoille has a large grassy space that can accommodate both ceremony and reception.
That said, this venue requires serious planning. Tree tops have been cut in recent years, and most trees are dying and need to be replanted. You also need to rent a large tent. I have photographed many weddings here where couples did not take this advice and were hit with rain. Food got soaked, dance floors became slippery, and once the music equipment short-circuited and sparked. Summer storms and lightning do happen here, so please plan accordingly.
Ruby 360 Lodge – Upper Lamoille
Ruby 360 is one of the nicest and most luxurious venue in the area. It can hold about 250 people outside and 50 inside. The mountain views are beautiful, the food is good, and cocktails are available. Having rooms onsite is a huge plus, especially for the bridal party.
For Ruby 360 Lodge, it’s important to note that there is a curfew at 11:00 p.m. Setup is allowed the day before the event, with cleanup taking place the day after. A king room is available for the couple on the night of the wedding, along with two dressing rooms for the bridal party. Overnight rentals with a hot tub are available at an additional cost. Bartending and catering are provided for an additional fee. The property is non-smoking with no exceptions. A Certificate of Insurance with $1,000,000 in coverage is required.
The biggest con is cost. You must use their catering, which is charged per plate and can add up quickly. Vendors also need separate insurance, which sometimes ends up being an additional cost for couples. Because of the elevation, fog can roll in at times. It doesn’t happen every day, but when it does, it does. However, this can make some amazing photos!

Elko Venues in Town
Marvel & Marvel – Downtown Elko (I saw a sign up for sale as of January-2026. I am not sure if this location is available at the moment.)
This “Elko wedding venue” is actually a law agency that rents out its backyard. It comfortably fits about 75 people and has a small deck set up for dancing, a small grassy area, and plenty of parking.
For Marvel & Marvel, it’s important to be aware that setup is allowed the day before the event starting at 3:00 p.m., with cleanup scheduled for the day after. Portable restrooms and garbage pickup are not provided. A Certificate of Insurance with $1,000,000 in coverage is required.
The downside is space. It’s very limited, which makes it difficult to fit vendors like food or bar services. Ceremony timing is also important here. Afternoon light is harsh and uneven, which can result in half of the ceremony photos being black and white. However, I can help you plan your timeline and give you specific timing for your ceremony at this venue to help with that. You will also need to rent tables, chairs, and anything else you need.
The Basque House
Located near Elko High School, the Basque House can be rented for weddings. The outdoor ceremony space is decent and works well if you’re looking for something more affordable. The paved outdoor area allows for a large dance floor and can hold hundreds of people.
For an Elko Wedding venue, the indoor building, however, is not very pretty and has poor lighting. I wouldn’t recommend using it. Renting a tent is also smart if you want protection from rain.

Exhibit Hall Fairgrounds
This is a large indoor venue that can comfortably fit about 250 people. It works well for receptions and dancing.
For the Fairgrounds, it’s important to note that setup is available either the day before the event for an additional fee or the day of the event. Cleanup must be completed by 12:00 p.m. the following day. Smoking is not permitted indoors. Garbage pickup is available for an additional fee. A Certificate of Insurance with $1,000,000 in coverage is required.
For an Elko wedding venue, the lighting is poor and creates orange-tinted photos if you don’t hire the correct photographer. Thankfully, I bring professional lighting equipment to help avoid this. This space is not ideal for ceremonies or photos. For portraits, we would need to go to GBC nearby, and timing is very important to avoid green or blue color casting.
Elko Convention Center
The Convention Center venue can hold about 250 people and allows you to host both ceremony and reception in one place. Lighting in the main entry area is good.
The main room lighting is very poor and can cause orange skin tones if you don’t have the right photographer. While I can correct the orange skin tones, the room itself is very basic and not visually pretty.

The Lostra Warehouse
Located in Elko, this venue fits around 100 people comfortably. It has a cute interior and a built-in bar, which makes it great for receptions.
For The Lostra Warehouse, it’s important to note that an all-day rental fee of $1,000 is due the day prior to the event. A date reservation and cleaning deposit of an additional $500 is due at the time of booking and may be refunded after the final cleaning walkthrough.Tables and chairs can be included for an additional fee of $250; however, linens and setup are not included. All renters are responsible for obtaining special event insurance prior to the event date. This insurance can be purchased through LP Insurance.
For this Elko wedding venue, the parking is difficult since it doesn’t have its own lot. While you can have a ceremony here, having both ceremony and reception with dancing in this tight space can feel uncomfortable. The wood floors later in the evening also create an orange color cast, so experience matters here. I do, however, provide lighting equipment that will help with the orange skin tones.

The Dalling Hall – Downtown Elko
Located next to Coffee Mug, this venue fits about 150 people comfortably. It’s very cute inside and works well as a reception space.
For this Elko wedding venue, I do not have a con for this space.
Spring Creek Golf Course – Carry On With Style
Located outside Carry On With Style on the Spring Creek Golf Course, this outdoor patio venue fits about 100 people comfortably. It has trees, a semi-covered patio, and pavement for dancing. There is also a bridal suite inside the salon, and the owner is very sweet.
The bridal suite has limited good lighting and can get very hot due to a lack of AC in this specific area (the rest of the building is fine). Ceremony timing is critical here. If you schedule it too early, the sun is harsh and uneven, which can result in many black-and-white ceremony images. I help couples avoid this by directing them to the ideal ceremony time.

Ranches, Hidden Gems & Backyard Weddings
Maggie Creek Ranch – Near Carlin
This venue can hold about 275 people comfortably and offers a spacious outdoor area for both ceremony and reception. There are two onsite buildings for the bridal suite and groom’s suite.
Ceremony timing matters here. Too early in the day creates harsh sun and heavy contrast, while later in the day works much better. The suites are functional but not visually pretty. You will also need to rent tables, chairs, a dance floor, and a tent in case of rain.

Sixteen Wedding Venue
This ranch serves Elko County, but I am booked for a wedding at this venue in 2026 and will update once I have firsthand experience.
Your Backyard
This is honestly one of my favorite Elko venues. It’s free, personal, and meaningful. Some of my favorite wedding photos I’ve ever taken were in backyards.
That said, You need a good grassy area and a decent amount of tree coverage or nearby trees. You will likely need to rent a tent, tables, and chairs, but when done well, backyard weddings are incredibly special.

I’ve worked at most of these locations, so I know the light, the flow, and what to watch out for. If you have questions or want help choosing between Elko venues, or even just help with timing, I’m always happy to help.
Bridal Suite
Sand & Sagebrush
This place deserves special mention. Their bridal getting-ready room has beautiful natural light and a calm, intentional design. It’s the perfect space—and my personal favorite bridal suite to photograph.
