Spring Creek Golf Course

Spring Creek Golf Course isn’t just a great place to play a round — it turned out to be the perfect backdrop for one of the most fun pre-wedding sessions I’ve had all year.

Spring Creek Golf Course The day before their wedding, this almost–bride and groom decided to do something different. Instead of a traditional engagement session or a stiff walk-and-pose situation, they wanted to spend time doing something they actually love. That meant hopping in golf carts, playing a few holes, and letting the evening unfold naturally. From the start, it felt relaxed, lighthearted, and full of real laughs — the kind that can’t be forced.

Riding along and photographing them while they golfed was honestly a blast. They teased each other between swings, celebrated good shots, and laughed off the not-so-great ones. That kind of energy makes my job easy. I didn’t need to direct much. I just stayed observant and ready, catching moments as they happened instead of trying to create them. Spring Creek Golf Course

Favorite Parts at the Spring Creek Golf Course

One of my favorite parts of the evening was watching their nieces and nephews join in. The kids were so proud of themselves every time they made a putt, and the adults hyped them up like it was a championship win. Those moments added so much heart to the session. It felt less like a photo shoot and more like a family night out that just happened to include a camera.

And yes — let’s address the obvious. At the Spring Creek Golf Course, Golf and drinks usually go hand in hand, right? In this case, everyone driving the carts was sober, and no rules were broken. I didn’t partake myself, but watching everyone unwind and enjoy themselves made the whole session feel even more natural. It was one of those evenings where no one was checking the time or worrying about what came next.

Also worth mentioning: this was my first time driving a golf cart. I won’t lie — I was nervous for about thirty seconds, and then I was fully invested. There’s something about cruising around during golden hour that makes everything feel lighter. The pace slowed down, conversations flowed, and the light just kept getting better.

Why Sessions Like This Work At The Golf Course

What made this session so successful wasn’t just the location — it was the experience. Letting couples do something familiar helps them relax quickly. When people feel like themselves, the photos reflect that honesty. They don’t feel posed or stiff. They feel lived-in and real.

Spring Creek Golf CourseAt the Spring Creek Golf Course, Autumn sessions here come with a few things to keep in mind. First, bundle up. Once the sun starts to dip, the temperature drops fast. Layers are your friend, especially when you’re riding in a cart for a few hours. Second, take advantage of the bar connected to the course. The food is good, the atmosphere is casual, and it gives everyone a place to regroup, warm up, and keep the night going. Elko Nevada

I always tell couples that photos don’t have to mean stopping the fun. In fact, the best images often happen while you’re in the middle of it. Playing a few holes, laughing with family, and enjoying the moment gave this session an energy you can’t replicate in a more traditional setting.

By the time the sun went down, no one felt rushed or tired. Everyone left smiling, and that’s always a good sign. Sessions like this remind me why I love photographing people the way they actually live — messy laughs, inside jokes, and all.

Elko Nevada Ending the evening at Spring Creek Golf Course felt like the perfect send-off before their wedding day. It was fun, meaningful, and completely them, which is exactly how it should be.
